It’s here! It’s here!

Well, it’s finally official. Deathwing has taken flight and Azeroth is a smoking ruin at this point. Or will be whenever the stinking download finishes. The only thing I really don’t like about massively world changing new content is just how long it takes to get to me. I’m not terribly patient about new content, not when it’s been hyped like this has been. I mean, it’s gotten more press time than Lindsey Lohan, Paris Hilton, and Sarah Palin together! Not to mention is going to be enjoyed by more people than those three ever could be. And I get the feeling your average orc is more intelligent than all of them put together, too. Hmmm…

Back on track, things are going to start heating up out there now that the major patch has finally hit us all. Or, again, will be hitting us when my ISP isn’t so insanely bogged down by all of the other people around me who are downloading the exact same thing.

Enough of my griping, there’s something I really wanted to talk to you guys about today, and that is the serious lack of gold that’s going to be out there soon. See, now that the big patch has dropped, people are going to be freaking out because, unlike me and hopefully you all, they didn’t plan ahead and buy wow gold before now. They figured that they had all the time in the world to get the goods so they put it off. Now, they’re going to pay for it, literally.

See, the supply is going to dry up pretty thoroughly and prices are going to skyrocket between now and December. After that, I imagine that it’s only going to get worse. And the worst part is, some people are going to get so desperate that they will start looking for other sources of gold outside the US.

My only advice to those folks, don’t do it! Even if the prices appear better, there is a greatly increased risk involved. Firstly, you have no way to be sure that you will actually get your gold. Secondly, there’s no way to be sure that you’ll get it safely. People who don’t speak English are really bad at surreptitious delivery and you’d hate to get banned just because you were feeling cheap. Just don’t chance it. A little extra cash is a small price to pay for homegrown safety.

Well, it seems that Blizzard has finally made their announcement. I thought for sure that they’d wait until Blizzcon to drop the release date for Cataclysm. I’m really not sure just how their marketing department works. Usually, if a company hosts its own con, they use it as a platform for some serious chest thumping. Not Blizzard, though. I’m sure there will be news and all sorts of fun stuff (this just in: Blizzard has tapped Tenacious D for a concert at Blizzcon. Get your Jack Black goodness on 10/22 and 10/23), but the news may be a little on the skimpy side. I figure they won’t want to steal the thunder from Diablo 3. Here’s hoping for big news on that front! Nothing like a free almost-MMO to bide your time with.

They know what they’re doing, I guess. After all, Blizzard isn’t in the habit of failing. And if they don’t want to overhype the thing, they won’t do it. It’s not like it’s hurt them in the past.

Anyway, it looks like we get Apocalipsized… Apocalipticated…. Apocalipsim… never mind. Cataclysm is coming out on December 7th, so mark your calendars and synchronize your watches. That’s when we get the update and the world gets pulverized.

With that in mind, I think it’s time that we all get out there and buy wow gold You’ll really want to be sure they aren’t including some uber gold buying death ray with the expansion, so you’ll be best to stock up now just in case. Also, even if the code doesn’t specifically prevent it, you know the GMs will be on high alert. They’ll be monitoring things pretty closely in order to make sure there are no exploits or cheating going on, so you know they’ll have eyes out for gold buying too.

Thankfully prices are holding steady right now. With all the anticipation I figured it would start getting ugly but it appears we have a little time before we need to start worrying. Toonstorm is holding steady at $19.48 for 5000 gold, which beats the overall average I’ve found. Plus, it’s delivery in under 30 minutes which is really hard to beat.

Just keep an eye on the prices at your favorite sites. I will be, that’s for sure. I may even make a buy next time. I have some buffing to do and I just don’t want to wait.

I think they’re just buttering us up…

But at least they’re doing it with beer.

That’s right everyone, Brewfest is back for another year of inane stuff that you know you’re going to do no matter how stupid it seems. So sit down, drink up, and enjoy the pointless games and items you get.

You all know the drill, show up, get tokens (last year it was tickets), and get involved in some goofy little quests that can net you some fun stuff. Thing is, this can be to your advantage if you time it right. If you show up at 6:15 AM or PM server time you can watch a little ceremony that will net you a 10% experience buff. Even if you don’t take part in the goofy quests you can use that little buff in your IC runs so you’re ready for the more important stuff that’s coming later. You can also spend your time just getting your character plastered with all of the free booze that’s lying around. Also, one of the quests out there can net you some epic items if you beat the guy who’s bogarting the beer.

WoW just gets weirder by the year.

Another annual festivity has come along as well, this one a little more serious. Harvest Festival has come along and that means it’s time to pay your respects to those who have fallen in the war. While all are considered honored, Uther Lightbringer and Grom Hellscream get the most attention. If you visit your respective side’s tomb you can light a candle and receive a special reward for your tribute. The way there isn’t easy, however, and you’ll need to be sufficiently prepared before you can make the journey.

That’s where buy wow gold comes in. You can’t hope to take on any sort of boss that will drop epic gear or hope to make it to a hero’s tomb without serious opposition. You will need to stock up on essentials and make sure your current gear is up to snuff so that you don’t embarrass yourself out there.

Anyway, get yourself ready to go and take advantage of the oddball festivities. As much as I’m ragging on them I will be too. No point in denying it.

With great gold comes great stuff

So have you all had a chance to check out Ruby Sanctum yet? If not you really need to get on the stick. Signs are pointing to Cataclysm coming out this year, and you don’t want to be left behind.

Why do I say this year? The signs are in the air. Blizzard just revealed the box art for the expansion, so the finished product can’t be too far behind. I figure we’ll find out for sure about when it comes out at Blizzcon.

I must say that I hope it can live up to the hype. They’ve really been plugging the whole thing for some time now, and I’d hate to see it flop because of poor planning. Although, given what they plan on doing to Azeroth, it makes sense that they really want to prepare everyone before hand. After all, you don’t just blow up 11 million people’s favorite world without so much as a how do you do. People might have abandoned in droves if they had.

If you don’t know what I’m talking about, you obviously haven’t been paying attention over the last year or so. Cataclysm will change the face of the world we’ve been playing in permanently. After the launch there will be no going back. The whole world will be torn apart by Deathwing’s return and it will affect everyone, newbie and veteran alike. That means that new players will never get to experience those first few levels in the idyllic beginning areas. The areas will still be there, but they will have been decimated by the big bad dragon’s opening attack.

The weird thing is that you will be affected by these changes even if you don’t buy the expansion. No one will be spared. While this is causing some outrage amongst the more nostalgic among us, I think it’s a good thing. Those areas had gotten stale over the last few years, and I never went there unless absolutely necessary. Now it will be neat to see just how the attack affects these areas.

There will be tons of new gear, and the level cap will be raised to 90. This means that we’ll need to buy wow gold in abundance to make the cut. Otherwise you can count yourself dragon food.
